Burst and monthly caps are independent limits — a 429 response tells you which you hit (via X-RateLimit-Type header). Free tier is the only tier live today; paid tiers activate at public launch.

What happens when data isn't available?
You get the honest-error envelope — ok: false with a documented error explaining exactly why (an auth wall, an upstream limit). Data is never fabricated, and you are never charged for an honest error. Today 48 composite chains return real data on the first call.
Do I need upstream accounts or credentials?
No. AllAPI reaches only publicly available data — no accounts, no upstream credentials, and no Terms of Service accepted on your behalf. One AllAPI key is all you need.
